Fall around Chinquapin, Tahoe City
As you wander around and explore all of the meadows, you’ll find that in addition to aspens, we have other leaf-bearing trees that add to the colorful show. Don’t be surprised to see hawks, golden eagles, coyotes, or even a bear, on your leaf-peeping adventures. Not only is Tahoe City a great area for bird watching, but the meadows and trails surrounding us are perfect for mountain biking. From thrilling rides on Tahoe Rim Trail to leisurely rides along backcountry roads. However, please note the high alpine conditions can be unforgiving for unprepared mountain bikers. Riders should plan for weather changes which can affect the riding conditions, by carrying rain gear, water, and food. Most trails travel through secluded areas where help may not be quickly available. If you don’t get around to hiking or biking this fall, join us for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing this winter!
